A new free classifieds website is avilable to the south african public. SMSAD classifieds used to be a website where you had to send a premium sms to place an ad, but the new managers of the site have changed the website and a free classifieds ad can be place online.
They want to be different in their take on online classifieds ads that the ad will be deleted after 10 days to keep the information current and actual. Their philosophy is less is better as more, they can’t understand some of the online classifieds ads which have ads running 3 years back ?
They’ll try to keep an eye on the ads in the system as well to delete what they classify as spam

Free Sounds, not songs or music. You need a free sound to spice up a powerpoint effect ? You need a sound track of a train or falling water ?
The Freesound Project aims to create a huge collaborative database of audio snippets, samples, recordings, bleeps, … released under the Creative Commons Sampling Plus License. The Freesound Project provides new and interesting ways of accessing these samples, allowing users to
- browse the sounds in new ways using keywords, a “sounds-like” type of browsing and more
- up and download sounds to and from the database, under the same creative commons license
- interact with fellow sound-artists!
They also aim to create an open database of sounds that can also be used for scientific research. Many audio research institutions have trouble finding correctly licensed audio to test their algorithms. Many have voiced this problem, but so far there hasn’t been a solution.

If you’re like me you probably have many accounts online which require a user name and a password. The easy thing to do would be to use the same user name/password for all your login’s, but it is certainly not the best thing to do. Can you trust all the sites you are using ? Are the passwords encrypted ? So the most secure option is to use different user name/passwords for all your accounts. For the account you use daily you probably won’t have a problem remembering your login details, but what about that site you use once a month ? Time to keep a list of your passwords and user names.
KeePass is a lightweight, easy to use, open source password manager. It allows you to build an encrypted database with all your passwords and protect it with a master password or a key file.
